Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

Buckinghamshire Council (BC) has a statutory duty under Section 6 of the Childcare Act 2006 to carry out an assessment of the sufficiency of childcare within their area. Buckinghamshire Council has a duty to ensure that there is sufficient childcare for working parents, or parents who are studying or training for employment, for children aged 0 to 14 years or up to 18 years for children with a disability. Under section 7 of the Childcare Act 2006 Buckinghamshire Council is required to secure sufficient funded early years provision for eligible children aged two, three and four years of age.
