Developing a strong grounding in number is essential so that all children develop the necessary building blocks to excel mathematically. Children should be able to count confidently, develop a deep understanding of the numbers to 10, the relationships between them and the patterns within those numbers.

This year, we are celebrating Childminding Week 11 to 17 May 2026. The theme for 2026 is ‘Magic of Childminding’.

The Childcare Choices website has now been replaced with 'Best Start in Life' all internet searches for childcare choices, will now take the user to this website.

The Early Years team provides a service that ensures the Local Authority meets its statutory duty to secure sufficient high quality Funded Early Education places for 9 months to 4-year-olds, and sufficient childcare for 0-14/18 year old's whose parents are in work or training to return to work.
