Learning Support Assistant for Alternative Provision - Castlefields School - High Wycombe

Qualifications/Experience:

The successful candidate must be able to
demonstrate that they:
Have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs and strategies to support children
Are passionate about Special Needs Education
Are committed to the role and the school
Are organised, enthusiastic and highly motivated
Are able to provide creative, enriching and learning opportunities for the children
Have high standards of spoken and written English
Hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification

Responsibilities/Extra Information:

General Responsibilities:
1. To input and assist with the planning of the curriculum.
2. To help to set up the environment each session and maintain a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness.
3. To support a small group of children or an individual child, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.
4. Fostering good home/school links in line with school policy
5. To advise the Room Leader/Lead Teacher of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as
necessary.
6. To support children’s learning and development across all area of learning
7. To deliver bespoke therapies and strategies as directed by the room leader and external professionals
8. To support children with their personal care.
9. To input to and attend appropriate staff meetings.

10. To attend in-service training courses and
meetings as required.
11. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job.
12. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Room Leader/Lead Teacher, in accordance with the School’s Development Plan
and Objectives.
13. To support trainee’s and volunteers as appropriate.
14. To comply with all H&S policies/procedures.

Temporary/Permanent

 

32.5hrs a week
