Qualifications/Experience:

Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent)
Previous experience working in an early years or nursery setting
Experience in a senior, supervisory or leadership role within an early years environment
Strong knowledge of the EYFS and current safeguarding requirements
Understanding of Ofsted expectations and early years best practice
Experience supporting staff, mentoring colleagues and promoting professional development
Good knowledge of child development, observation and assessment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage responsibilities effectively
A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and providing high-quality care and education
Paediatric First Aid and safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)

Responsibilities/Extra Information:

Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery
Provide effective leadership and guidance to the nursery team
Help maintain a safe, secure, welcoming and stimulating environment for children
Ensure the provision consistently meets EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
Support staff to deliver high-quality learning and development opportunities
Monitor and promote high standards of care, education and practice
Support staff supervision, induction, training and ongoing professional development
Assist with staff deployment, rotas and maintaining appropriate ratios
Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers
Support the management of safeguarding concerns and follow nursery policies and procedures
Assist with planning, observations, assessments and children's individual learning  needs
Help monitor and maintain health, safety, hygiene and risk assessment procedures
Support the Nursery Manager with audits, inspections, policies and continuous improvement
Deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence
Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive team culture
