Marketing Your Provision
Marketing Your Provision

Marketing plays a vital role in the success and sustainability of any childcare business. It helps you understand the needs of local families, identify opportunities for growth and adapt to changes in demand. Effective marketing supports occupancy, promotes funded childcare places and helps your provision stand out in a competitive market.
For early years and childcare providers, marketing is unique. Parents and carers are choosing a setting that will care for and educate their children, so trust, reputation and relationships are key. By involving families in the development of your service, you can help ensure your provision meets their needs and expectations wherever possible.
Marketing is much more than producing flyers, posters or social media posts. It is about understanding what you want your business to achieve, how you want it to be perceived by families and the wider community, and how you communicate your message effectively.
Developing a Marketing Strategy
A successful marketing strategy should focus on three key areas:
Can we make the below into a canva infographic please- Three M’s of marketing (Coloured pillars- with title and text- using some childcare related imaging)?
Your Market
Who are your current customers, and who do you want to attract in the future? Consider the needs of local families, demographic changes and gaps in childcare provision within your area.
Your Message
What information do you want families to know about your setting? Think about the impression you want to create and identify your Unique Selling Point (USP). This could include your ethos, specialist services, facilities or approach to learning and development.
Your Methods
How will you communicate your message to the right audience? Consider a range of approaches, including your website, social media channels, open days, community events, online directories and word-of-mouth recommendations.
