The Buckinghamshire Early Years team are delighted to be able to offer families of autistic children (with or without a diagnosis) the opportunity to learn together with their child’s settings.

Families can choose between:

  • Early Years Autism – one day (face to face)

or

  • Early Years Autism – five sessions (online or face to face)

 

Early Years Autism - One Day: (For parents of children aged 6 and under)

This course runs on a termly basis, two family member and a practitioner from the child’s setting are invited to attend the session from 10 am to 3 pm.

The day focuses on helping families and practitioners to understand ‘Autism and the differences in the way children learn’. We will share strategies to support autistic children at home and in the setting.

The next Early Years Autism One Day Course will be;

Monday 17th March 2025 at The Betty Messenger Building, Park Lane, Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire, HP14 3TQ

Early Years Autism – 5 sessions

This course provides an opportunity for families of pre-school aged children, and their child’s practitioner, to work closely together and learn about autism and strategies to support learning.

The next Early Years Autism 5 Session Course will start on Friday February 7th 2025 and will be held online via Microsoft Teams (Places are still available) Sessions will run from 9.30 to 11.30.

The five sessions focus on:

  • Week 1: Understanding Autism​
  • Week 2: Communication and visuals​
  • Week 3: Sensory differences and independence skills​
  • Week 4: Interaction and Play​
  • Week 5: Problem solving and next steps​.
