Qualifications/Experience:

Minimum of Level 2 Childcare Qualification
Paediatric First Aid
Childcare Experience (minimum of 12 months)
Previous Safeguarding Training (although up to date training will be offered)

Responsibilities/Extra Information:

This role is for both Pre-school & Wrap Around looking after children aged between 2 and 12 years old
Reporting to the Deputy Manager, Manager and Owner.
Job Purpose
To provide inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children attending the setting, and to maintain a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable environment that supports each child's development.
Main Duties
Provide stimulating, age-appropriate play and learning opportunities as directed by senior staff.
Adhere to and implement operational policies and procedures, including recording all accidents and incidents.
Supervise children appropriately and protect them from dangerous or harmful situations.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of toys and equipment at all times.
Carry out observations to monitor children's development and contribute to 2-Year Progress Checks.
Plan and supervise a variety of outdoor activities covering all development areas.
Act as a key person for a designated group of children.
Assist in the preparation of snacks, considering dietary, cultural, and allergy needs.
Liaise with parents and carers about children's needs and progress, starting with positive feedback.
Be aware of and support children with special educational needs.
Offer support to volunteers, students, and work placements.
Arrange and attend parent meetings to discuss children’s progress.
Share updates on children's progress and contribute to activity planning.
Participate in staff supervisions and appraisals.
Attend and contribute to regular team meetings.
Follow safeguarding procedures and report any child protection concerns.
Work closely with senior staff as needed.
Cover other rooms when necessary and move rooms if required.
Attend relevant training, conferences, and meetings.
Keep up-to-date with good early years practice.
Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by senior staff.

Qualifications

Essential:
Level 2 qualification (or working towards) in Early Years Education and Childcare or equivalent.
Willingness to undertake additional training (e.g., safeguarding, paediatric first aid).

Desirable:
Level 3 qualification or higher in Early Years Education and Childcare.
Paediatric First Aid certificate.
Safeguarding Level 2 or above.
