Number of funded hours: 30 hours per week over 38 weeks of the year for children aged 9 months to 2 years old; 15 hours per week over 38 weeks of the year for 3 and 4 year olds can be combined with their Universal Entitlement to make up to 30 hours per week over 38 weeks.

Eligibility: Based on parental income. Applications to be made via HMRC website

For parents of 2-year-olds receiving some additional forms of government support

Child’s Age: From the term after they turn 2 years old

Number of funded hours: 15 hours per week over 38 weeks of the year

Eligibility: Based on parental income. Applications to be made via Buckinghamshire Family Information Service website

Universal Entitlement for 3 and 4-year-olds

Child’s Age: From the term after they turn 3 years old through to starting school

Number of funded hours: 15 hours per week over 38 weeks of the year. Can be combined with the Working Parents Entitlement to make up to 30 hours per week over 38 weeks of the year.

Eligibility: All 3 and 4-year-olds are eligible from the term after their 3rd birthday and no application is required

Once you are registered to provide childcare with Ofsted, a Childminder Agency, or the Independent Schools Inspectorate, the next step is to consider the benefits of offering the Early Years Funded Entitlement hours for eligible children within Buckinghamshire.

For further information on how to offer this please contact earlyyears@buckinghamshire.gov.uk and refer to the information on our website

Please note: Providers in Buckinghamshire can only offer and claim for the Funded Entitlement hours once they have been approved by Buckinghamshire Council and placed on Buckinghamshire Council’s Funding Directory.
