Qualifications/Experience:

We are looking for a person who is two years Level 3 qualified or equivalent, with at least one year’s supervisory experience within a Nursery setting.

A comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the running of a Nursery must be shown.

The ability to use computerised systems would be an advantage. Previous management experience would be advantageous.

A good sense of humour is always desirable. We are also looking for a person who is able to work on his or her own initiative within the Nursery setting.

Suitably experienced newly qualified mature applicants may also be considered for this post.

Responsibilities/Extra Information:

Assist the Manager in providing effective day-to-day management of the Nursery.

To be responsible for the supervision of children, identify their learning requirements and advise key staff of these.
To be responsible for supervising some health and safety routines.

To be responsible for the day to day management of assigned rooms, facilitating good practice by the staff team with regards to individual and group work with children.

To assist the Manager in promoting Equal Opportunities throughout the Nursery.
To work alongside parents/main carers of children with special needs to achieve full integration within the Nursery. Identify the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development needs of children with
special needs, and offer appropriate support, and relevant developmental opportunities.
Liaise with and support all parents/main carers and other family members.
Liaise with the Local Authority and other professionals associated within the Nursery.
