Early Years National Funding Formula (EYNFF)

In July 2023 the Department for Education (DfE) published the Early years supplementary grant 2023 to 2024: methodology - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

This confirmed that the Local Authority will receive a supplementary grant to provide further funding for the period of 1st September 2023 to 31st March 2024. This is a one off payment to the Local Authority which will allow us to increase our base rate funding to providers from the start of the Autumn term 2023 to the end of the Spring term 2024 only.

The new provider hourly rates from 1st September to 31st March 2024 are:

  • 2-year-olds 2023/24 - £8.56
  • 3 & 4-year-olds 2023/24 - £5.30

The deprivation rate for 3&4-year-olds only remains the same at £0.08.
