Qualifications/Experience:

Experience of working in an education support role
Experience of working with individuals and groups of children
Experience of working in an Early Years setting
Qualifications in English and Maths (GCSEs or equivalent)

Enthusiastic with a positive outlook
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
Ability to use initiative
Build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, treating them with respect and consideration
A positive attitude towards professional development and your own learning

Experience of working with children with special needs in a school environment – supporting

NVQ Level 3 in Education/Early Years or equivalent
Further professional qualifications for supporting teaching and learning in schools
First Aid qualification

Good ICT skills

Responsibilities/Extra Information:

Support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum through inclusive, play-based learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Contribute to the planning and implementation of engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas of learning, adapting provision and resources to ensure accessibility and participation for every child.
Work closely with key children, including those requiring additional support, to nurture their individual learning journeys through targeted interventions, observations, assessments, and next step planning.
Provide high-quality care, supervision, and emotional support for children aged 2.5 to 4 years
within a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes wellbeing and belonging.
Support children with personal care needs, including intimate care routines, toileting, nappy
changing, and the development of independence, dignity, and self-help skills.
Assist children with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and sensory
needs, using appropriate strategies and support plans under the guidance of the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals where appropriate.
Foster positive and effective relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies to support children's learning, wellbeing, and successful inclusion within the setting.
Maintain a stimulating, organised, and enabling environment that supports a range of learning styles, developmental needs, and sensory preferences.
Follow safeguarding, SEND, and inclusion policies and procedures to ensure the welfare, safety, and positive outcomes of all children.
Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions, supervision meetings, and SEND-related professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and practice.
Uphold the values of inclusion, equality, diversity, and respect, ensuring that every child is valued and supported to achieve their full potential.
Work under the guidance of senior staff, developing confidence and expertise in supporting
children with a wide range of needs while taking on increasing responsibility within the setting.
