Qualifications/Experience:

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a childcare or nursery
environment
A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
Strong knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices and allergens
Experience with meal preparation for young children or similar age groups
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage stock levels effectively
Car owner and ability to lift reasonably heavy bags/boxes
A genuine passion for preparing healthy meals for children is essential

Responsibilities/Extra Information:

Prepare and cook healthy meals suitable for children under 5, ensuring nutritional value and
variety
Plan menus in accordance with dietary requirements and nursery guidelines
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times
Manage food stock levels, reduce wastage, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation
Collaborate with nursery staff to accommodate special dietary needs or allergies
Keep detailed records of food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and safety checks
