Qualifications/Experience:

Patience and strong communication
Reliability and teamwork
Energy and willingness to get involved
Basic understanding of safeguarding
A genuine interest in working with children
Basic understanding of child development (even informal)
Willingness to study towards a qualification in Early Childhood Education

Responsibilities/Extra Information:

Supervising children during play, meals, and rest times
Assisting with feeding, changing nappies, and personal hygiene
Ensuring health and safety standards are followed at all times
Assisting in activities like storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor play
Supporting children’s communication, social skills, and early learning
Observing children’s progress and reporting back to senior staff
Taking direction from nursery practitioners and managers
Communicating with parents about their child’s day (under supervision)
Contributing to planning activities and maintaining records
Work towards a qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 in childcare)
Attend training sessions or college alongside work
Build skills in safeguarding, child development, and professionalism
Recognising signs of neglect or abuse
Following safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns
Promoting emotional wellbeing and inclusion
